Unfiltered Series: VT x BTS Makeup

I’m a huge BTS fan, so I was quite excited when they did a collaboration with the makeup brand, VT. To me, makeup and music are the perfect combination lol.

After the collection was launched, I didn’t read/watch good reviews about it, but I still bought it so I can try it myself.

Shall we begin?

I didn’t buy all the products from the collection, because I’m a broke college student. I only got things that I’d be able to incorporate in my daily makeup routine. One of the eye palettes, lip tint and setting spray.

1) Super Tempting Eye Shadow Palette

There’s only 2 eye shadow palettes in the collection, Modern Neutral and Tender Classy. On the site, it says that they’re both designed for daily wear. I like my eyeshadow to be more on the neutral side so I went for Tender Classy. The size of the palette is much smaller than what I normally use (ABH Soft Glam). And I don’t like that the names of shades aren’t listed anywhere on the palette. As for the colors, they’re not very pigmented unlike ABH palettes (if you’re familiar with the brand). However, this doesn’t necessarily mean a bad thing, because they’re buildable eye shadows and easy to blend. Tender Classy has 2 glitter eyeshadows and if you use a brush to apply these on the eyelid, they won’t show so it’s best to use either your finger or a Q-tip to apply it. The colors are long lasting.

If you’re a beginner in makeup or not a fan of super pigmented eyeshadow, then this palette is for you! I personally like Tender Classy, it gives a soft eye look.

Here’s my favorite eye look created using this palette:

2) Super Tempting Face Fixer

I feel like my makeup isn’t complete if I don’t use a setting spray. It truly helps your makeup stay in place and I don’t think I could live without setting spray. I know, it sounds crazy lol. My go to product is the All Nighter from Urban Decay, it’s long lasting and it gives a matte look. I decided to spice things up and try a different spray, and I bought the one from this collection.

This spray is alright, but I wouldn’t buy it again because it gives a dewy look and I like matte more. I’m aware of the fact that in Korea, the latest trend is the dewy skin so I should have known that this product helps achieve that. Even though on the site, it says that it gives a matte finish. Also, it has a weird scent (the Urban Decay one doesn’t), I’d describe it as a mix between flowers and lemon. However, the spray does its job, it helps your makeup look flawless throughout the day.

I got both products as a set from Amazon and I only paid $52. I also received the set of photo cards! You can buy it here: https://tinyurl.com/yc5kxz64

3) BT21 Lip Tint

I love the BT21 characters, and the main reason why I bought this was for its cute packaging. Out of all the shades, I liked Chimmy’s one best, it’s coral. The applicator is bent, which makes it a bit difficult to apply the tint on your lips. It gives a glossy finish which I like. However, it’s not long lasting and after eating, the color is almost gone. I’d not buy this product again.

FINAL THOUGHTS

Out of the 3 products I tried, I’d buy the palette again. As much as I like BTS, I’m not a huge fan of their makeup collection, to me it seems that VT rushed in producing these and they should have spent more time testing the products. Also, this collection doesn’t really promote BTS, because their faces aren’t anywhere on the products, just their name so if you didn’t know who they were, you’d just be like “meh”.

HAVE YOU TRIED THIS COLLECTION YET?
