Unfiltered Series: Tony Moly x Monsta X Lip Tints
I was so excited to try these lip tints!
One of my favorite Kpop bands is Monsta X, and when they announced their collaboration with Tony Moly back in September, I knew I had to try it lol. Because to me, makeup + my favorite artist represent the perfect combination.
The lip tints were launched on October 1st and they are available only in Korea. It was a struggle to find an online store that has them and also ships worldwide. It took me 3 tries until I was able to purchase them because on some of the sites, the collection was sold out or on others, they were charging too much money for one lip tint. The “beauty” of being an international fan. :\
My go to Kbeauty online store started selling the collection, so that’s from where I got mine. Because of the high demand, the store only allows 2 lip tints per customer (there’s 6). :( Therefore, I am only reviewing the two tints I got.

I usually wear liquid matte lipstick, so I didn’t know what to expect from those lip tints. My first contact with a lip tint was when I bought the spicy ramen collection from Tonymoly . As I briefly mentioned before, there’s 6 tints in the collection, but they don’t all represent the 7 members since 2 of them share the same shade of lip tint (Shownu and Minhyuk).
It was hard for me to pick since I like all the members, but in the end, I ended up getting Baby Coral and Chili Pepper. I really wanted to buy Jooheon’s tint (number 4), but looking at the swatches, that shade of orange would look too bright on my pale skin.
01 BABY CORAL
When I first opened the bottle, the tint smells like candy. I like the shade, it is a pink coral and the tint isn’t pigmented, but I still like how it looks. The applicator even though is small, makes it easy to apply the tint on your lips. It The tint feels light on my lips and it has a matte finish. Also, the tint doesn’t dry your lips and if you’re used to wearing matte lipsticks like I do, you know how much those dry your lips.
TEST WEAR: To me, a good lip makeup product is when it stays on your lips for more than an hour. When I tested this shade, it was on one of my long days where I’ve work and class. And for my test wears, I follow my normal routine (eating, drink my coffee lol). The tint was intact the first 2 hours and by hour 4, I could tell that I needed to reapply it. Only on my bottom lip, the color was still visible. I wouldn’t say this tint is long-wear.
06 CHILI PEPPER
Just like the other tint, when I first opened the bottle, it smelled like candy. Easy to apply and it feels light on the lips. It has a matte finish. I like this red, because it’s not pigmented, and it goes well with my pale skin. It doesn’t dry your lips either.
TEST WEAR: This one lasted more on my lips than Baby Coral, which is interesting since they are both made by the same manufacturer. I tested this shade on another busy day for me, because I think this is the most efficient way to find out whether the product is long wear or not. By hour 4, the color was still intact on my lips. This tint is somewhat long-wear.
For both tints, I paid 12.22 USD (without shipping).
WHERE TO BUY
I got all these goodies from http://beautyboxkorea.com . It was my first time using this online store, and I had a great experience! And it got to my house within a week (S. Korea (Seoul) - US (Boston)), which is incredibly fast! When you place your order, you get to choose from 3 delivery services (EMS which is Korean, FedEx and UPS). I picked UPS because it was the cheapest. They tell you that it takes a week to be shipped to your address. And the best part? Beauty Box Korea ships worldwide!!
From kpoptown.com. On this site, you can order all 6 of them, however, they charge more for one tint, it’s 8.90 USD. Also, I have mixed feelings about ordering from this online store, because if you do a quick Google search, you come across the reviews and many customers have complained that they didn’t receive the order on time or that the store lost their order. But there were others who had great experience ordering from Kpoptown.
I like that they have a matte finish and they’re not as pigmented as the other products I usually use. I wish the tints would come in a bigger size so you can get more of the product you paid for. Also, another thing I like is that they stay on for quite a while. I can see myself re-ordering these 2 shades once I run out.
